Sara Payne MBE

Another familiar name but not for the reasons that Sara would have liked to be known. Her daughter was snatched and murdered - surely every person in this country must have seen the pictures of Sarah’s sweet face as her mother battled and battled to persuade the powers that be that we need better child protection. And what a difference she has made! Her reward, not that she ever sought anything for herself, was to be honoured by the Queen in the New Years Honours List and
be appointed the Government’s Official Victims’ champion. What a lady. Respect.
