Survivors Poetry

Someone Once

He was someone once
It wasn’t me
It was make believe
Now I see
What I don’t want to see
It has not changed me
It has made me
That’s why there was
A make believe
All the good inside
Is just so painful
This is someone
I don’t want to be
These are things
I don’t want to have
Happened to me
Oh know
Here we go
Back to make believe
I was someone once

The Survivor

If you have survived a moment
Then you can survive another
If you have survived a day
Then you can survive another
if you have survived a week
Then you can survive another
If you have survived a month
Then you can survive another
If you have survived a year
Then you can survive another
You can survive
Because you already have
Because you are a survivor

That you hear or read these words
Is that you have survived
It might not get any easier
But that you are here now
Is testimony to the fact
That you are a survivor
Believe me I know like me
You can do this we can survive
Its not as unbelievable as you may feel
After all we already have and do
You me... we are not the survivor
We are the survivors
Because many are we

I hope like me you see
To make a survivor of WE
And not just me

The Dream of Life

I am a failure because I try
I'm sad because I care
I'm a fool because I want to believe
Its my fault because I keep...
Trying, Caring Believing
Even as it destroys me inside
And those near me
What makes it worse is
It might even be possible
A dream that could be
But never will
To do so you need people
And its people and their ways
That make it not possible
They create what's inside
Then blame you for it
Till you become what they say
So they can destroy you more
Till you have no fight left
Not even for yourself
To try is to destroy the dream...
Of life

The World of Silence and the Silence You Shame

The world is full of abusers
The minority are here to be abused by you
Mustn’t dis-o-bey
Mustn’t tell
Or you will be abused by others
In the name of
Love, care, help or treatment
It’s not the real abusers
That create the worse reasons to be silent
It’s you and what you do
That creates the world of shame and silence
I must be ready
I have spoken out
Even in words
When they read this
They will come and abuse me again
Maybe it’s my fault after all
Maybe you’re right and I’m wrong
That’s a shame
or
Is it shame?
You decide
Shall I be silent?...
Like before
