On Being A LAC child
(November 2008)

They say I’m LAC child
How very dare they!
I hate the phrase myself
But, I guess I sort of know what they mean!

I LAC a school to go to
I LAC a social worker
I LAC someone to be a good parent to me
I LAC the right to see my brother and sister

I LAC any say in my own decisions
I LAC self-belief
I LAC friends of my own
I LAC a social life

I LAC any sense of who I am
I LAC respect for myself and others
I LAC confidence that any one will listen to me
I LAC ambition and hope for my future

They say I’m a LAC child
Well they’re the experts
I guess they must be right!!
