Wounded Eyes

I see you
you've got those wounded eyes
...and you too...
there is no disguise
big enough

We are part of a club
we didn't choose to join
we can't leave
or invite others along

I see you
You've got those tell tale signs;
don't talk about family
you don't read between the lines

We are the same
yet different
sharing the pain our own way
Want to be heard
but sometimes
to hide and play

I see you
you are so grown up now
We don't need anyone do we
At least let's pretend that's how.
