Sligo, Leitrim & Wes Rape Crisis Centre provides the above services to people who suffered any of the following types of abuse in childhood:

  • Emotional abuse
  • Physical abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Rape
  • Ritual abuse

Service Description

Sligo Rape Crisis Centre Counsellors are there to listen and suport those who have recently or in the past heve been been raped, sexually abused as childeren, sexually harassed at work or have experienced some other kind of sexual violence. If you know someone who has been raped or sexually abused SRCC can help you to support them. SRCC are also able to help if you decide to report to the gardai and can accompany you to court hearings and any medical proceedures you may have to go through. SRCC will provide information about pregnancy testing, the morning after pill and can make confidential referral for testing or give you information on sexually transmitted disease. Sligo Rape Crisis Centre provide a free and confidentail counselling and support service and all their counsellors are expertly trained by the Rape Crisis Network of Ireland with the majority of them also being accerdited counsellors and psychotherapists with the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
