Aurora Health Foundation LTD provides the above services to people who suffered any of the following types of abuse in childhood:
- Emotional abuse
- Physical abuse
- Sexual abuse
- Ritual abuse
Service Description
The AURORA HEALTH FOUNDATION provides a unique and specialised holistic service to adult men and women survivors of childhood abuse and to the people who support them, including partners, family and friends. The organisation was founded and is led by a survivor/therapist who has developed a way of working effectively with adult survivors - The Aurora Approach – which comprises of counselling, support and a range of complementary therapies.
The Aurora Approach is a combination of factors consisting of the type and range of therapies available, the therapy staff, the environment and the way services are delivered. All these factors are seen as important for helping clients on their individual healing journey.
The way in which the Aurora Approach helps clients is best explained by the “5Cs” of:
• self Containment
• Compassion
• Crisis resolution
• reCovery
• Coping skills
